Derek and I spent today wandering around Geneva- something we haven't done since the fall. Usually Saturday is ski day, but today we enjoyed the balmy (39 degree) sunshine and strolled through the Botanic gardens and along the lake. Things are starting to be green, there were lots of birds singing, a few early bloomers popping through the soil, sailboats on the lake, and a clear blue sky. Spring, I am ready for you!
I couldn't resist climbing this giant stump and striking a few poses.
Neither of us knew that the Botanic garden also had a small zoo with some goat, deer, sheep, flamingos, and various water foul. And of course plenty of peacocks.
A few signs of spring: cute little fuzzy goat and yellowness! Despite the flowers and budding trees and baby animals, winter still has a hold on the lakefront. Last week we had some strong storms and lots of wind. The waves from the lake broke onto the walkways, park benches and trees and froze there.(Actual waves). A few areas along the lake looked like ice castles in a forgotten frozen city. It was really cool- pun! Check out this crazy ice world:
Making our way back toward the center, we stopped for a mid-afternoon "brunch" at a creperie that I have been wanting to try since they make crepes sans lait and glutton free (still egg though). We need a good name for our 3:30 meals, any suggestions? It was nice to warm up in this tiny little cafe and have both savory and sweet crepes.

I would also like to point out that my catcha for the last comment was "saber." It's a sign!!!
